The ferret awoke to unfamiliar surrounds, again. Laying perfectly still, he rapidly scanned the room, seeking signs of a danger that he instinctively knew could not be far away. Sensing no immediate threat, he repeated the scan, more slowly this time, trying to extract sufficient detail to determine where another night on the run had ended...
